Your old car is worth more than you think
Swap your combustion car for a 100% electric one, transfer the energy savings to us, and we'll pay you €800. Check in one minute if you qualify.
Do you meet the requirements?
Only check what you truly meet. These are the conditions required by the regulations: if one fails, there's no certificate.
Check all seven requirements to know if you can claim them.
We'll review it with you, no obligation.
What exactly is a CAE?
An Energy Savings Certificate proves that an action has reduced energy consumption. Switching from a combustion car to an electric one is one such action.
Energy suppliers are legally required to justify savings each year and can do so by purchasing these certificates. That's why your savings have a buyer: for you, it's a car change; for them, it's fulfilling a legal obligation.
Do you really pay me that money?
Yes. You transfer the energy savings generated by your vehicle change to us, and we pay you €800. We handle the paperwork, documentation, and submission.
We don't charge you anything for the management: our work is paid through the sale of the certificate.
Is it the same as the Auto+ Plan aid?
No. The Auto+ Plan is a public subsidy that reduces the price of an electric car. The CAE is the transfer of energy savings, and it's not public money.
In practice, they can be combined, but you must declare in writing which public aids have been requested or obtained for the same action. We review it case by case before submitting anything.
Which vehicles qualify?
Cars, vans, motorcycles, and mopeds, as long as the new one is in the same category as the one you're giving up.
For companies and entities, buses, trucks, and heavy vehicles also qualify, with their own reference consumption. If you have a fleet, write to us: the calculation is different and we do it custom.
I had the old car on lease. Does it count?
Yes. It's the exception to the rule that both vehicles must be owned by the same person: if the old one was leased, the buyer of the electric one must be the lessee of that contract and have used the vehicle for more than two years.
The new electric vehicle can also be acquired through leasing, as long as the contract lasts more than two years.
What documentation do I need to provide?
The essentials are:
- Registration certificate or the last two vehicle tax receipts, to prove the two years.
- Proof that the old one is no longer yours: destruction certificate, change of ownership at the DGT, or export deregistration.
- Invoice and registration certificate of the new electric vehicle.
- Responsible declaration about public aids and that the transfer is not between cohabitants.
We prepare and submit the file. You just provide the documents.
What if I don't meet one of the requirements?
Then the action doesn't generate certificates and there's nothing to claim. It's not our decision: it's set by the technical sheet of the standardized measures catalog.
Still, write to us. Some cases seem ineligible but aren't —leasing is the most common— and others can be arranged if you still have time to sort out the dates.
How long does it take to get paid?
The file goes through the corresponding regional government and the CAE system verification before certificates are issued. Timelines depend on the administration, so we don't give fixed dates.
What we do control is our part: ensuring the file is complete the first time, which is where most time is lost.
Conditions according to sheets TRA050.P and TRA050.E of the standardized energy efficiency measures catalog.
