Calculate the grant for your electric car
Answer five questions and see your grant instantly. No registration and no fine print: we show you where every euro comes from.
1 Who is buying the vehicle?
The grant changes depending on whether you buy as an individual or for your business.
2 What type of vehicle is it?
Only vehicles with the DGT's CERO label are eligible.
3 Plug-in or 100% electric?
The more electric, the more grant. It is the criterion that weighs the most.
4 How much does it cost, excluding taxes?
The invoice price including extras and accessories, after commercial discounts and excluding VAT.
5 Where is it manufactured?
Only check what the manufacturer has declared on the program's White List. If you don't know, leave it unchecked: your dealer will verify it.
Indicative calculation based on Royal Decree 609/2026 (BOE of 23 July 2026). Final amounts depend on each call and on verification by the Ministry.
What exactly is the Plan Auto+?
It is the state grant for purchasing electric and plug-in cars that replaces the old MOVES Plan. It is managed directly by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, without going through the autonomous communities, and will be in force until 31 December 2030.
The big difference from MOVES: the money comes from a single national fund and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so you apply and get paid the same no matter where you live.
What is the maximum I can receive?
It depends on who you are and what you buy:
- Private individual: up to €4,500 for a car and €5,000 for a van.
- Self-employed or micro-enterprise: up to €6,000 for a car and €7,500 for a van.
- Other companies: up to €4,500 for a car and €5,000 for a van.
- Professional light transport (only 100% electric): up to €7,000 for a car and €12,000 for a van.
- Motorcycles: €1,100 (€2,000 in the professional line). Quadricycles: €1,500 (€2,000 in the professional line).
The grant can never exceed the price of the vehicle.
Why don't I always get the maximum amount?
Because that maximum is split into three criteria and you only receive the ones you meet:
- Electric: 50% if it is 100% electric, 25% if it is plug-in or extended range.
- Economic: 25% if the car costs €35,000 or less, 15% if it is between €35,000 and €45,000. Other vehicles always add 25%.
- European: 15% if it is assembled in the EU, plus an additional 10% for the European content of the battery.
Adding the four tiers you reach 100% of the maximum. A pure electric, European vehicle under €35,000 gets the full grant.
Is there a maximum price for the car?
Yes. For cars, €45,000 excluding taxes: above that amount there is no grant. The only exception is 8- and 9-seat cars purchased for an economic activity, which have no cap.
For L3e, L4e and L5e motorcycles the limit is €10,000. And note: the price is counted on the invoice, with all extras and accessories included, after commercial discounts and excluding taxes.
Which vehicles are eligible and which are not?
Vehicles with the DGT's CERO label are eligible: battery electric, fuel cell, extended range and plug-in hybrids. Accepted categories: M1 cars, N1 vans, L3e/L4e/L5e motorcycles and L6e/L7e quadricycles.
Buses and coaches (M2, M3) and heavy trucks and vans (N2, N3) are excluded. And in the Social Climate Fund line only 100% electric vehicles are accepted: plug-in hybrids are not.
I bought the car a few months ago. Am I in time?
Maybe. In the 2026 call, new vehicles registered from 1 January 2026 in your name are accepted, as well as vehicles purchased from a dealer whose first registration is from 1 January 2025 onwards, provided that no more than twelve months have passed between that registration and the date of your invoice.
If you bought before the application window opened, your invoice also does not need to reflect the €1,000 discount.
What is the dealer's €1,000 discount?
In addition to the public grant, the point of sale must apply at least €1,000 discount on the price excluding taxes, and it must appear on the invoice identified as Plan Auto+. It is required for new cars and vans.
It is additional money: it adds to what the State gives you.
How many vehicles can I get with a grant?
- Private individuals: one vehicle per person.
- Companies: up to ten vehicles.
- Self-employed with economic activity: up to three vehicles.
Each vehicle is subsidised only once in its lifetime: if you buy it second-hand and it already received a grant, it cannot be requested again.
Does it work if I get it through renting or leasing?
Yes, but only for companies and self-employed, and the contract must last three years or more. The vehicle can be registered in the name of the renting or leasing company.
During the two years following the grant, you may be asked for monthly receipts to verify that you are still paying for the service. Private individuals can only request the grant if they buy the vehicle outright.
What paperwork is needed?
The application is 100% electronic and requires a digital signature. It is submitted with:
- Definitive technical sheet and circulation permit.
- Purchase invoice in your name and bank payment receipt.
- Certificate of ownership of the account where you want to receive the money.
- If you finance, the contract and the certificate from the financial institution.
- Companies also add the census certificate, the representation power and the de minimis aid certificate.
You don't have to do it yourself: the dealer can act as your representative and submit everything on your behalf. That's exactly what we do at DealerBest.
What if the money runs out?
Applications are resolved strictly in order of entry until the budget is exhausted. When it runs out, you can still submit yours: it goes on a waiting list and will be attended if someone withdraws or if the allocation is increased, although being on that list does not give you the right to be paid.
That's why the advice is always the same: apply as soon as possible and with complete documentation the first time.
Can I sell the car afterwards?
You must maintain ownership and keep the vehicle registered in Spain for at least two years from the grant. If you sell it or deregister it before then, you must return the entire grant plus interest.
There are justified exceptions: theft, irreparable damage, replacement due to a serious manufacturing defect, or death of the beneficiary.
Can it be combined with other grants?
Yes, with grants that are not European Union instruments, as long as together they do not exceed 80% of the eligible cost of the vehicle.
For companies and self-employed, the grant falls under the de minimis regime, so it counts towards the accumulated limit you have with the administrations.
When do I get paid?
Payment is made by bank transfer to the account you indicate, after the grant resolution. Before that, you will receive a provisional proposal with ten business days to appeal if something doesn't add up, and if documentation is missing, you will have another ten days to correct it.
If you are not notified of a resolution within the legal period, the application is considered rejected by administrative silence and you can appeal.
