Madrid, January 7– At DealerBest, a company with a solid track record in the automotive sector and in managing incentives for vehicle purchases, we are aware of the changes ahead for electric mobility in Spain: The Auto Plus Plan, the new subsidy strategy for purchasing electric vehicles, will replace the Moves III Plan starting in 2026.
After years of successful management of the Moves III Plan, which remained in effect until December 31, 2025, and helped boost the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, at DealerBest we are prepared to adapt to the new challenges and customer needs brought on by this change of model.
Auto 2030 Plan: A comprehensive strategy for electrification
The Auto Plus Plan is not an isolated program, but rather part of a much broader initiative by the Spanish Government: the Spain Auto 2030 Plan. This strategy seeks to boost the purchase of electric vehicles and accelerate the transformation of the industry towards sustainable mobility.
The President made public the amounts into which the plan is structured, across several investment lines:
- Auto Plus Plan (or Auto+): Allocated 400 million euros for the acquisition of electrified vehicles.
- Moves Corridors Plan: A budget of 300 million euros to increase charging points, with the aim of improving infrastructure, especially in “shadow zones” or secondary roads.
- PERTE: 580 million euros dedicated to innovation and growth of the national electric vehicle industry
The overall goal of this strategy is to make electric cars more affordable, eliminate bureaucracy, expand infrastructure, and turn Spain into a leading country in electrification.
The big news: Direct discount and centralized management
The most significant feature of the new Auto Plus Plan is its application model, designed to resolve the main drawbacks of the Moves III Plan.
Under the Moves III Plan, fund management depended on each Autonomous Community, which led to major variations in payment times and even left nearly 40,000 people waiting to receive their subsidies due to funds running out.
The Auto Plus Plan changes this model, focusing on immediacy:
- Centralized Management: The Auto Plus Plan will be managed directly by the central Government, eliminating regional intermediation. This aims to unify criteria, simplify procedures, and avoid territorial differences in payment speed.
- Immediate Discount: Subsidies will be applied as a direct discount at the dealership, deducting the grant from the final vehicle price at the time of purchase. This way, users will no longer have to front the money and wait months or years for reimbursement, a major barrier that the new aid aims to remove.
Although individual amounts have not been specified by the Government, they are expected to be similar to those of the Moves III Plan, which offered up to 7,000 euros if another vehicle was scrapped.
The Auto Plus Plan will come into force starting in 2026; with this new system, applying for subsidies becomes even easier, making the electric car more accessible than ever in Spain.
