  • The Aire Plan has already come into force and requires all vehicle owners to display the environmental badge.
  • The Madrid Association of Automobile Dealers (AMDA) and DealerBest are launching a campaign for applying for environmental badges.
  • No need to travel to any office: the entire process is carried out by email.

Madrid, 20 October 2018: DealerBest and AMDA are joining forces to handle environmental badge applications without the need to travel or wait in Post Office branches, offering a much faster and more direct service for all badges for just €5.50 + VAT, a price very close to the current one at Post Office branches.

The Aire Plan has already come into force (National Air Quality and Atmosphere Protection Plan 2013–2016), a plan that firmly states that traffic is the main source of nitrogen dioxide pollution. And what does this mean? That no one can now avoid the obligation to have their DGT environmental badge, of which there are four: B, C, ECO and CERO.

What criteria are used for assigning it and what is this environmental badge for?

It is mainly based on the level of pollution emitted by cars, which are categorised according to European criteria, and on their registration date.

In some cities, such as Madrid, displaying these badges on vehicles is already mandatory to distinguish between more and less polluting vehicles, since those with the CERO badge will be able to drive in any situation, while ECO, C and B will only be able to drive in specific scenarios.

In some cases, it has even been said that this is a way of rewarding those who use vehicles that are more respectful of the environment, as they will not have to give up their car in cases of extreme pollution or under other municipal policies.

How can you get the environmental badge with AMDA and DealerBest?

Of course, it is well known that environmental badges can be purchased at Post Office branches, but the branches themselves have reported stock shortages in recent days due to massive demand.

To make the process faster, more direct and easier for vehicle owners, this campaign, which brings together DealerBest, a management and consultancy services company specialised in the automotive sector, and AMDA, the Madrid Association of Automobile Dealers, will distribute the badges through the dealerships that are members of the association, with no need to queue at Post Office branches.

To get the environmental badge, you simply need to scan the vehicle registration document and the owner's ID card and send them by email. Afterwards, it will be ready for you to collect directly from the dealership with no unnecessary waiting.

The price is very close to that of the Post Office, at €5.50 (+ VAT), and it is all advantages: speed, simplicity and convenience at all times, with a team that will be there to help you with the biggest smile.
