The 10 things you need to know about the MOVES III Plan (if you want to get paid)

At the beginning of this year 2021, rumors began to circulate about an extension of funds for the MOVES II Plan. A much-needed extension, which the government finally confirmed with a budget of 400 million euros in aid for ELECTRIC MOBILITY.

Today, Moves 3 aid can already be requested in several autonomous communities, by individuals, companies, and public entities alike.

At Dealerbest, we have a team in charge of processing these applications and, after several months of managing the previous aid, we have already detected the reasons why aid is generally denied in many of our partners.

For this reason, don't lose sight of the information we are about to give you on what to keep in mind when managing the aid, because it can make the difference between receiving the aid or not.

What do I need to keep in mind to apply for the new MOVES 2021 Plan?

So that you can successfully submit an application for the Moves III plan, and it isn't rejected a few months later, the golden rule is:

Be very clear about the general requirements of the new Moves III

In any case, although it is very important that you read this information carefully, if you have already decided to apply for aid that can amount to up to €9,000, we'll tell you what not everyone knows about the new Moves (and what you'd better know so it isn't denied).

  1. Pure hybrids NO: it's a classic, but don't forget it. Only 3 types of vehicles can apply for this third extension of the aid: pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell (hydrogen) vehicles.
  2. The subsidy is received afterwards: that is, the vehicle is purchased and paid for in full at first, and when the aid is approved and funds are released, the subsidy is then paid directly into your bank account.
  3. Charging points: aid is granted equally for the acquisition of electric vehicles and for the installation of charging points at home, at a company, in a neighborhood community, etc.
  4. Residents of towns with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants: pay special attention if you are registered in a small municipality because you have access to higher bonuses than the general ones.
  5. Functional diversity: likewise, applicants with disabilities and with the need for more specific installations for the use of electric mobility also have special bonuses.
  6. The owner must be the applicant: careful! This isn't the first case of someone wanting to take advantage of Moves, for example, to give a gift to a relative. If the vehicle owner is not the aid applicant, the subsidy will be denied. That is, the applicant, the payer, and the beneficiary that appears in all corresponding contracts must be the same person.
  7. If you are going to scrap a vehicle: the same applies to vehicles handed over for scrapping in order to receive higher bonuses. These must be registered in the name of the owner of the new vehicle and in the name of the aid applicant for at least the 12 months prior to the application.
  8. Companies must wait to submit before registering: if you are not an individual, self-employed worker, or homeowners' association, you cannot register/collect the vehicle until your application has been submitted.
  9. Recent purchase: if you bought the vehicle less than 9 months ago and didn't know about Moves III, you can still apply for your aid.
  10. Specific requirements: complying with these general guidelines is important, but equally important is complying with the specific requirements of the autonomous community from which you are going to apply. You can find all that information on the Moves III website by community, by clicking on your autonomous community, and finally, by clicking on the icon of its Official Gazette.
