We're back! Today we're going to show you everything the second town we had the chance to talk to about VIVe told us: Grazalema, located in the province of Cádiz. Its councillor for general services, Javier Pérez, tells us how the project works in his municipality and what the locals think of it.
-
How did you find out about VIVe and why did you decide to bring this project to Grazalema?
We learned about the VIVe programme through the dealership "Guadalete motor", specifically from the Hyundai house. We had a first meeting where they proposed the project to me, which was already running in different parts of rural Spain, putting cars at the service of citizens. We thought it was a fantastic idea! We believed Grazalema was one of the icons in the province of Cádiz where this project could take off, and that's what we conveyed. It became a reality and we already have our VIVe car in Grazalema.
-
What benefits has VIVe brought to the municipality and its residents?
The benefits have been quite significant. We have a car available to any citizen who needs it for short and long trips, at times when some people might not have another way to get around. This project has eased that need that many residents of Grazalema had. In rural areas, in small towns, not every family has a vehicle, and this was an opportunity for them to access a borrowed car and use it for their convenience.
-
Do you find the app easy to use when booking the vehicle?
At the start, in the conversations we had with the project coordinators, they showed us the app. It's true that I've been the link between the town council and the dealership for this project, and I know it quite well. It's super simple but very effective. Anyone who wants to take the vehicle just has to download the app, select the date and book the car. When the time comes, you just open and close the car and finish your booking.
-
What do you think of the customer service provided by the team that manages VIVe?
In my opinion, the service we've received has been perfect. I have no complaints. When there's been any issue or special situation, like someone leaving the car open, they've responded very well, quickly and instantly. I know that customers who have used the app, when they've had a problem, have called the information line and have been properly assisted.
-
Have you been able to talk to residents who use VIVe? What do they think of the project?
I've spoken to some of the users and they've told me it's something very innovative. The car is electric and automatic, and people aren't used to driving a vehicle like that, so there's a lot of excitement and they thank us for the service. It's not only used by residents, but also by people who've come to spend the weekend here or are spending time here. They've signed up as users and have used the car. Residents tell us it's a very innovative and very beneficial project. They're very happy because it's even given the town a certain status, being the only one with this service in the province of Cádiz. It's a sustainable car, it looks after the rural environment and, being electric and automatic, it's very comfortable to drive.
-
Would you recommend VIVe to the rest of Spain's municipalities? Why?
Being a bit selfish, I'd say I only want it for myself, because it was great publicity for us when they thought of Grazalema for this project. Yes, I would recommend that other municipalities take note of VIVe and get it up and running, because it's one more step, one more service for citizens, and it's very rewarding to be able to offer such an innovative service to all the residents of Grazalema and its visitors.
