What happens now that people don't want to go to dealerships to buy? Or when the most important thing is toilet paper and not a car?
In the automotive sector, we are one step behind in terms of digitalization, the dynamics of selling at a dealership are changing, and users are increasingly checking their mobile phones or computers when buying, which turns all dealerships into mere signing points.
But... what happens when no one can walk through the door? Online sales have brought us giant changes; in the critical situation we find ourselves in, it is the resource we must hold on to, but not just any way. Selling online does not mean uploading my stock to a website and selling; this is the most common mistake and the reason why you hear time and time again that online sales don't work. I am sure that right now you are wishing it would work, that leads would come in, that cars with financing would arrive so you can withstand the hard blow that a virus causes us, but you can't just sit back and wait to see what happens with your website or your cars listed on various portals, because the most likely outcome is not that things will improve, but that they will get worse.
What do I need to improve and keep selling during critical situations and after them?
You need help, and there's nothing wrong with asking for it. At DealerBest, we dedicate ourselves body and soul to dealerships, helping them generate sales, generating leads, running campaigns, using techniques such as programmatic advertising to generate more valid customers, managing thousands of monthly leads that we get to even the most remote dealerships in Spain, providing call center and lead management to those who don't have it or don't know where to start, exporting many of those stock vehicles that cost so much money to maintain every month.
We are in a moment of forced change, online sales are real and should be just as important at a dealership as in-person sales; online equals investment, not expense, and it is a point to seriously consider.
Given what we are going through, we hope that banks, associations of legal managers, and other entities will make all online sales easier from now on, so that people don't have to attend in person, not only because of a critical situation but for the future. Better a future where we can provide customers with solutions that adapt to them, rather than the customer having to adapt to us.
Our recommendation is to start working on the online side with the help of experts like us, not only for today but for the day-to-day, to get rid of the prejudices about selling on the internet and see its advantages, since they open up a world of enormous possibilities, and to let yourself be carried away by this wave of digitalization that is starting to become a tsunami.
At DealerBest, we are available to all dealerships that need to equip themselves with the best technology. Join this change, don't get left behind, and above all, don't leave your business in the hands of online and digital gurus; there are no miracles or luck in this, only hard work and experience.
