Zero risk with Quikly

Our CEO, Paco Díaz, was interviewed on April 21 on the program “El Balance” on Capital Radio hosted by Federico Quevedo and featuring Chimo Ortega. The topic on this occasion was “Voices for mobility”.

A very natural conversation took place about mobility, especially outside the big cities. Paco, as always, perfectly explained the vision we have at Quikly of how profitable mobility businesses can be achieved at dealerships while solving real problems for people in all locations.

Chimo began by highlighting that when it comes to mobility, Madrid or Barcelona are always mentioned, but never Teruel, Soria, Zamora, León… In these areas, moreover, during the pandemic period we are experiencing, the problems regarding basic services have become evident; mobility and healthcare among others. On the other hand, he raised the reflection that in small towns the closest things that usually exist are banks and dealerships.

Paco then took the floor and perfectly summarized what the core of Quikly is and how it is a model that has among its objectives the ability to bring people living in Empty Spain closer to each other and to essential services: “[…] Quikly is a mobility model in which the cars we use are owned by the dealerships, that is the basis. Dealerships have many registered cars […] and if we put those cars into the world of mobility, this will allow dealerships to amortize them, create a different business area […] and we start generating income from a car that previously generated no income […]. The dealerships that join Quikly cover any area, Burgos, for example. Our partner in Burgos wants to expand in the mobility business […] we were getting feedback from those experiences, from people in small cities or medium-sized towns who were requesting cars […]. Imagine that there are cars in towns that people can use to go visit their family or cars that cover that second car that some are forced to have due to the frequency of public transport […]”.

The conversation continued and all the cross-benefits obtained from putting dealership cars into very diverse mobility projects were discussed. Not only can very positive synergies arise from the point of view of towns and dealerships, but it is also a very good opportunity for those medium-sized cities that want to launch mobility projects related to carsharing, to complement public transport routes and schedules. In the case of using dealership cars, the investment a city would have to make is zero (the cars are already registered), the characteristics of the vehicles can be as varied as what the specific City Council desires, and the income is generated and falls within the same geographical area.

On the other hand, from the customer's point of view, the experience is very good. Since the cars are delivered and collected at controlled points, they are always in optimal condition regarding cleanliness and we eliminate possible vandalism. Additionally, thanks to the station-based model, safety conditions and disinfection of cars against COVID-19 can be guaranteed before each customer uses the service.

Another point in its favor is that the fleet will be constantly renewed as these cars are always on the used vehicle market, which allows the dealership to sell different cars from the rest. In fact, all vehicles in Quikly have a QR code inside that, when scanned, provides access to see the main features and the price of the specific vehicle. With this, we achieve that if the customer is interested in buying the car, they have every facility to do so.
